Born and raised in Colorado, Mike spent most of his free time fly-fishing the elaborate water systems of the Rocky mountains. Since moving to the Big Island his passion for the water has carried over to the vast Pacific ocean. Working at Big Island Divers for over three years as a USCG captain and PADI instructor you may find him driving the boats but more than likely he will be leading day dives and certifying new divers. When you dive with Big Island divers ask Mike about some of the animals unique to the Kona coast. One of his favorite fishes to chase are the rare Tinkers Buttterflyfishes, you may just get lucky and find one or two with him.
