Captain Jim
In 1991, Jim got tired of the cold Canadian winters, and moved to Kona. He started working at Big Island Divers in 1992, and averaging well over 250 dives per year, he knows the dive-sites intimately. Starting as a Divemaster, he worked his way through Open Water Scuba Instructor, Medic First Aid Instructor, and numerous "Specialty" Instructor ratings to arrive at the Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating. Then in September of 1998, PADI awarded him the highest instructor achievement obtainable in the PADI program, the Master Instructor rating. Jim obtained his "6-pac" Captain's license in 1997, and in 1998 after becoming a naturalized American citizen was able to upgrade it to a USCG Masters license.
