NOTE:
*Note: Frank is really crazy! So if you take his free advice on what and where to go while your here in Hawaii, do so at your own risk! Always research your traveling while your on Island. This is a really Big island so make sure to always fill up on gas, have water and fluids on hand and sun tan lotion! Being on this Island is a physical activity, and there is VOG, which will slow you down if your not use to it!.
If you are not an avid snorkeler, my we suggest you first work on those skills before trying anything Frank recommends. Also the ocean is unpredictable with weird currents, swim with caution!

Big Island Divers is on its way to becoming a 100% Eco-friendly dive shop!
We've taken a stand in Hawaii to try to prevent the unsustainable practice of fish collection and “harvesting”
of the reef for the Aquarium Trade. We want to take our divers to see large schools of these fascinating animals in their natural habitats (free of fish collectors!).
Unfortunately, most dive shops in Kona do not share our beliefs on this matter. They support fish collectors by selling them gear and filling their Nitrox tanks, so they have the tools to
"Harvest" the fish from the reef for profit.
Just ask your dive shop, if they fill Nitrox tanks for tropical fish collectors; they are Actively supporting the removal of fish from the Hawaiian Reef for money & profit.
We are also taking other measures to keep our oceans healthy and clean by recycling, cutting unnecessary energy usage, and by spreading public awareness by educating our divers to Respect and Preserve the Reef.
We are all proud of taking these steps to maintain
a healthy reef Hawaiian reef!
Be part of the solution, not the problem!!! :D

I love going there....but you will need a 4x4 Jeep.
If you take a non 4x4 wheel drive vehicle, you'll have to park, and walk 2 miles!!!!
If you do go with a Jeep, stay to the left(fence line) and don't be tempted to follow the trails by the ocean to Green Sand Beach. You will get stuck!
